Sino-German Water Forum at the 15th Chengdu International Water Exhibition (CDWE) 2019

The 15th Chengdu International Water Exhibition (CDWE) was held during March 21-24, 2019 in Chengdu. During the exhibition, the Sichuan Environmental Science Society and the Sino-German Centre for Water and Health Research (WATCH) successfully co-hosted the Sino-German Water Forum at the Century City International Conference Center.

Mr. Chen, a vice president of the Sichuan Environmental Science Society, gave an opening speech for the forum on March 21, 2019. Prof. Ye, another vice president of the Sichuan Environmental Science Society, gave a welcome speech. Dr. Weber, representative of the European Union, welcomed the participants and presented the current problem of plastic pollution in surface water. Subsequently, Prof. Ye gave a lecture on the development of water protection and the ecological water status in Sichuan province. Professors and experts from China and Germany reported on various topics on water protection, pollution prevention, control measures, and technological advancements.

More than 100 participants, consisting of representatives from the Sichuan provincial government, as well as scientists and specialists from universities, research institutes, engineering offices, and industries, attended the forum. The participants were very interested in the topics and had fruitful discussion in depth.

On this occasion, the development of WATCH with a video presentation (https://water-health-research.de/en/home) was exhibited at the venue. WATCH and the Sichuan Environmental Science Society had a joint booth for the exhibition of WATCH.
